Birth Debrief
B is no longer taking new clients. If you've seen B previously and would like a session with her please email us.
This is an opportunity for you to chat with my epic team one-on-one. Your birth support people are welcome to join in too (only if you would like).
Your birth debrief session will give you the opportunity to:
- Have your story heard and your feelings around it felt
- Ask any questions about your birth experience.
- Help you move forward and work through any birth-related trauma.
- Give you options for any future birth(s)
- Help rebuild any birth confidence you may have lost.
What is a birth debrief?
A birth debrief is an opportunity for you to tell and honour your birth story. To unpack how it happened and why certain decisions were made. It’s to talk through any feelings you’re having around your birth and the postpartum period, whatever they may be for you. There is no wrong or right here, your story is valid and deserves to be heard.
Birth never goes to plan. Sometimes your expectations are exceeded. Other times you can be left with a lot of questions, disappointment, injury and even trauma. These can physically and mentally stay with you throughout your life.
A birth debrief will give you the opportunity to ask any questions about your birth experience. This session will help you move forward and work through any birth-related trauma. It will also give you options for any future birth and help rebuild any birth confidence you may have lost.
This is an opportunity for you to chat with me one-on-one. Your birth support people are welcome to join in too, if you would like.
We will connect via zoom and unpack your birth as you need to. I am here to help you understand your birth story.
If you would prefer our session to be in person, please write so in the notes or get in touch via email.
It is not necessary for you to have your hospital notes for this debrief. I find the only time we will use them is if it's really important for you to read through them or if you have a lot of unanswered questions about your birth that you would really like to discuss. In order to obtain these, you will need to contact the hospital where you gave birth and pay for these (it is typically less than $40). It will often take a few months to arranged and receive them.
You can book a 1hr or 1.5hr session below. I highly recommend booking the 1.5hr session as most people need more time.
Please note that for many people one session is not enough, especially if you need to debrief from previous births and losses or have experienced significant trauma.
