Holly
Hello! I am Holly (she/her). I am based in Naarm, Melbourne, with roots from the south coast of Western Australia. My most important work, is as a proud mama of two beautiful boys, Finn and Jack. This gives me real, lived experience with the challenges and beauty that comes with navigating pregnancy, birth, the postnatal period and beyond.
I am a holistic, Integrative Physiotherapist with a special interest in Womens and Pelvic Health. I have a post graduate certificate in Pelvic Health and Continence through Curtin University in Western Australia, and many years of clinical experience and training under wonderful mentors including Taryn Hallam and Hillary Schwantzer. I am trained in the Art of Birth Debriefing, through Motheration, with the guidance of B (Bernadette Lack) and Lael Stone. Additionally I am qualified in treating and managing conditions of the lactating breast (blocked ducts, nipple trauma and mastitis) and teaching movement based therapies including clinical pilates. Mindfulness practices and nervous system regulation strategies are often incorporated into my work. I see every person as a whole; addressing the physical and in equal parts exploring belief systems and the surrounding environmental influences.
My intention is to provide people with a safe, trauma informed space to be heard, without judgement and to feel emotionally held. Everyone deserves an opportunity to tell their story. It is my honour to hold space for your story to be told. I believe that when we feel supported and are given the opportunity to explore the experiences and narratives we hold within our bodies, healing can take place.
Coming from a pelvic health background, I believe I am well placed to support anyone who might be challenged emotionally by any physical conditions arising during pregnancy, during birth or postnatally. Fear and overwhelming emotions can often arise from the unknown (and Google :/). My wish is to be able to support women to understand their body better, explore the layers beneath the feelings and regain faith and power in their body and themselves.
Outside of my work and the wild ride of mamahood I am happiest when among trees or big bodies of water. I love getting out in nature with family and friends, hiking, travelling, and always widening my eyes with learning.
