Honour your body. Listen to and nurture it.

Release, reconnect & interpret your body’s unspoken story. Focus on the power and beauty of your pelvic bowl space. Your body holds onto so much story. When we allow this story to be heard, we can start to restore emotional and physical balance in the connective tissues, muscles and structure of your pelvic bowl.

Why Is Internal Release Important?

Release, reconnect & interpret your body’s unspoken story. Focus on the power and beauty of your pelvic bowl space. Your body holds onto so much story. When we allow this story to be heard, we can start to restore emotional and physical balance in the connective tissues, muscles and structure of your pelvic bowl.

The soft tissues of your pelvic bowl, like any other soft tissues in your body, can hold conscious and unconscious tensions. These tensions can be caused by scars, injuries, surgeries, trauma, posture and much more. Holding these tensions, even subconsciously, can affect your movement, expansion and space of the bones and organs. These tissues can also hold emotional and mental trauma, shame and memories.

In listening we can start to understand what is happening inside your body. Are there areas of tension? Trauma imprints? Shame? Emotional memories? Tension from birth injuries? Scarring?  My Internal Release Sessions holistically explore what is happening within your pelvic bowl and outside it. We work to quiet the mind so we can hear the body and respond as needed.

Women collectively hold much pelvic trauma and body shame. We can change how this is held in our bodies by acknowledging, creating safety and reclaiming your body as your own. Through these explorations you can reconnect and regain the strength and resilience you have within.

What is Internal Release?

This is a holistic approach to understanding what is happening in your pelvic bowl. It is both internal and external body work where we truly let your body do the talking. I do not use trigger point release techniques or what is traditionally offered by women’s health physios. I can help you to understand what is going on in your body but I do not diagnose issues like a pelvic floor practitioner, such as an Osteopath or Physiotherapist would.

How does it work?

Internal release sessions with B are held over two hours to allow time for the mind to tell it's story and then for the body to be heard. If you feel like your story is big and will need some more talking time, please book an initial online or face to face shorter session (an hour or 1.5 hours) with B first.

At the start of the session or initial session we talk through what is actually happening and what it means for you. Understanding the emotional and mental challenges and how these may play out in your body physically. This can involve acknowledging grief, past traumas and understanding why your connection with your body may be unbalanced. This can either be done face-to-face or online.

In the second part of the session or second session we uncover your physical story. Here we quiet the mind and let the body do the talking. We honour your body and it’s story in a respectful and caring way. This session is about facilitating the body to have a voice and hold the power. The idea of this session is not to cause pain and I am always guided by what you’re feeling and wanting throughout.

If you are having trouble finding two available sessions, please contact me at hello@coreandfloor.com.au

How else can it help?

We can work on scar release work – caesarean, episiotomy and tearing – as well as honouring the stories of the vulva (and getting to know it, if you don’t and want to) and entire pelvic bowl (pelvic mapping to help you understand your inside space better).

When can I book a treatment?

These treatments are available from 32 weeks in pregnancy and in postpartum from around six weeks when your bleed has finished.
